Congressional Perspective
As a member of Congress, you are considered a potential sponsor of the new Department. As a member of the Senate or House of Representatives, you have a particular mandate from your constituents that you believe you must represent and would like to see carried out by the Department of Peace and Nonviolence. Please describe how the Department must operate and/or what it must accomplish for you to consider it a success - a Department you could vote for (not against) when the Legislation comes up for a floor vote.
If you are member of a Committee or Subcommittee that is evaluating the Legislation, or believe it should be amended because it does not meet their specific needs or political objectives, please indicate how you amend the Bill to meet your needs.
Other sponsors include voters, and taxpayers.
